The Staysure Legends Tour and VIC Properties have announced that Pinheirinho Golf Course will host the inaugural Portugal Legends Championship. The tournament is scheduled to take place from October 30 to November 1, 2026, on the Alentejo coastline.
Located at the center of the 400-hectare Pinheirinho Estate in Comporta, the 18-hole championship course was designed by architect Jorge Santana da Silva. The layout weaves through dunes, pine forests, and features a 3.5-hectare lake alongside undulating fairways and bunkering. The broader Pinheirinho development includes a Jacobsen Arquitetura-designed clubhouse, private plots, turnkey homes, apartments, and Six Senses Comporta—the brand's first resort and branded residences in Portugal.
The announcement reinforces Portugal’s status on the Staysure Legends Tour’s international schedule, drawing on the country's reputation for year-round golf tourism, climate, and infrastructure across regions such as Alentejo, Algarve, Lisbon, Porto, the Azores, and Madeira.
The inaugural championship will host over-50 professional golfers, including Major champions, Ryder Cup icons, and Tour winners. Confirmed expected attendees include:
Alongside the professional tournament, the event will offer the Staysure Legends Tour’s Playing Experiences, allowing amateur participants to play alongside professionals under tournament conditions during the week.
