TGI Golf strengthens retail consultancy team with appointment of Iain Wright

2 July, 2026

TGI Golf Partnership has strengthened its retail support offering with the appointment of experienced industry professional Iain Wright to its Retail Consultancy team.

Wright brings more than 25 years of experience across golf retail, equipment, apparel and travel, joining the business with extensive commercial expertise and a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing today's golf retailers.

His career began in 1999 when he helped establish the JJB Golf driving range at the Trafford Centre, one of the first facilities of its kind to generate annual turnover in excess of £1 million. After seven years in the role, he joined Cleveland Golf, where he spent a further seven years supporting PGA Professionals across the North West and North East, developing strong relationships throughout the trade and helping retailers maximise equipment sales.

He later gained additional experience with Premium Golf Brands before moving into golf travel with We Love Golf Travel, where he spent four years helping golfers access leading golf destinations and experiences.

In his new role, Wright will work closely with TGI Golf Partners across the north of England and Wales, supporting retail performance, sharing best practice and identifying opportunities to drive profitability within their businesses.

TGI Golf's team of five Retail Consultants is based across the UK and Ireland, providing the group's Partners with free, in-store advice tailored to the specific needs of their businesses.

TGI Golf Partnership Managing Director Adele McLean said: "Iain brings a wealth of experience from across the golf industry and an impressive understanding of retail. Throughout his career, he has developed a strong reputation for building relationships, identifying opportunities and helping businesses improve performance.

"Our Partners are operating in an increasingly competitive environment, so having experienced consultants who can provide free, practical, in-store support is more important than ever. We're delighted to welcome Iain to the team and know he will be a valuable resource for our Partners."

Wright said he is looking forward to returning to a more hands-on role within the golf industry.

"I'm excited to be returning to the heart of the golf trade and reconnecting with many of the professionals I've worked with throughout my career," he said.

"TGI has built an outstanding reputation for helping PGA Professionals succeed, and I'm looking forward to working closely with our Partners, sharing my experience and helping them maximise the opportunities within their retail businesses. At the same time, I'm eager to learn from colleagues and Partners across the group as we continue to strengthen what TGI offers."

A keen golfer who plays off a handicap of six at Warrington Golf Club, Wright combines practical retail expertise with first-hand experience of the game, providing valuable insight into the needs of both golfers and golf businesses.
