Trump Turnberry Opens New 12-Hole Par-Three Course "Trump’s Twelve"

17 August, 2026

Trump Turnberry officially opened Trump’s Twelve, a new 12-hole par-three golf course, on August 10. The layout joins the resort’s existing 18-hole courses—the Ailsa and King Robert the Bruce—as part of an ongoing expansion of its golf facilities along the Ayrshire coast in Scotland.

Course Design and Features

Built on land previously occupied by the Arran Course, Trump’s Twelve features holes ranging from 70 to 206 yards. The short-course layout incorporates undulating greens, green surrounds, natural wasteland areas, and water features.

The course was designed by Trump Turnberry’s in-house team, led by Director of Golf Courses and Estates Allan Patterson, with shaping and groundworks completed by GolfLink Evolve.

Key specifications and features include:

  • Multiple Teeing Grounds: Designed to accommodate beginners, juniors, families, and elite players refining their short game.
  • All-Weather Tee Lines: Outfitted with artificial grass tee-lines installed by SYNLawn UK using Tee Strike+ technology to ensure playability regardless of weather conditions.

Integration with the Golf Academy

Trump’s Twelve serves as a core component of the resort’s PGA-certified Golf Academy. It supplements existing practice facilities, which include a TrackMan Range, TrackMan iO simulators, short-game areas, and PGA instruction programs.

The course expands Turnberry's lineup of offerings, which now includes the Ailsa course, King Robert the Bruce course, Trump’s Twelve, and the "Wee Links" pitch-and-putt course.

Official Statements

Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of The Trump Organisation:

"Trump Turnberry continues to set the standard for world-class golf. The Ailsa and King Robert the Bruce are recognised among the finest championship courses anywhere, and Trump’s Twelve completes an exceptional collection by offering something completely different while maintaining the same commitment to quality.

"This new course is another example of our long-term investment in the transformation of Turnberry and our ambition to create unforgettable golfing experiences for every guest who visits the resort."

Nic Oldham, General Manager at Trump Turnberry:

"Trump's Twelve is another exciting addition to what we believe is one of the finest golf experiences anywhere in the world. Complementing the Ailsa and King Robert the Bruce, this course is every bit as enjoyable for families, Academy guests and experienced players looking to sharpen an important part of their game.

"It reflects our continued commitment to providing outstanding experiences for every golfer who visits Turnberry."

Alistair Kyle, Golf Academy Manager at Trump Turnberry:

"This is a fantastic addition to the Academy. Short-game performance is where golfers save shots, and Trump's Twelve gives us an outstanding environment that simply wasn't available before. Whether someone is picking up a club for the first time or preparing for tournament golf, the course allows us to coach every aspect of scoring in realistic playing conditions.

"It will become a key part of our coaching programmes, junior development, family experiences and Academy packages while also offering tremendous enjoyment for guests simply looking to play a memorable round."
