Leeds Golf Design is proud to announce that Director Giulia Ferroni has been recognised by the European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA) as a Sustainable Design Leader, following completion of the EIGCA Sustainability Programme, developed in partnership with GEO Foundation.

The recognition was awarded following Giulia’s presentation of a sustainability-focused case study based on the ongoing work at Cirencester Golf Club, where Leeds Golf Design developed renovation and landscape improvement proposals centred around ecological enhancement, sustainable golf course management and long-term environmental stewardship.

The Cirencester project focused on strengthening the ecological value of the site through sensitive golf course design, landscape integration and sustainable management principles, while maintaining an enjoyable and strategic golfing experience.

The club itself has a strong environmental focus, with extensive areas of calcareous grassland and woodland habitats actively managed and enhanced.

The EIGCA Sustainability Programme is recognised as one of the leading educational programmes in sustainable golf course design and covers topics including nature, water management, energy, supply chains, pollution and community impact.

Giulia’s recognition reinforces Leeds Golf Design’s commitment to environmentally responsible golf course architecture and sustainable long-term golf course development, highlighting the important role that thoughtful design and management can play in enhancing the ecological value of golf courses.
