Bernardus Named Best Club in the Netherlands for Third Consecutive Year

3 April, 2026

CROMVOIRT, Netherlands — Bernardus Golf has cemented its status as the premier golf destination in the Netherlands, sweeping the 2026 Golfers’ Choice Awards by Leading Courses. On April 1, the club was officially named the Best Golf Club in the Netherlands for the third year in a row, just months before it is set to make history as the first Dutch venue to host the Solheim Cup.

The Golfers’ Choice Awards are highly regarded in the industry because they are based entirely on verified reviews from players rather than a selected panel of judges. This "authentic reflection" of the guest experience proved dominant for Bernardus, which also secured top honors in three additional categories: Best Maintenance, Best Hospitality, and Best Facilities.

A Clean Sweep of Excellence

The accolades highlight Bernardus' commitment to an all-encompassing lifestyle experience. The award for Best Maintenance is a significant nod to the work of superintendent Niall Richardson and his greenkeeping team, who maintain the Kyle Phillips-designed heathland course at tournament standards year-round.

“Being recognised as the number one golf club in the Netherlands for the third year in a row is a wonderful achievement for Bernardus,” said Sabine Riezebos, General Manager at Bernardus. “To reach that standard is one thing, but to sustain it is another entirely. The fact that this recognition comes from golfers themselves makes it especially meaningful and is a real credit to the passion and commitment of our whole team.”

Road to the Solheim Cup

The recognition comes at a pivotal moment as the club prepares to host the 2026 Solheim Cup in September. Since its opening in 2018, Bernardus has rapidly climbed the European rankings, previously hosting the KLM Open from 2021 to 2023.

The club’s sustainability-led approach and championship conditioning have made it a favorite for international travelers and professional organizations alike.

Beyond the Fairway

The year 2026 also marks a transformation for the club’s off-course amenities. Noble Kitchen, the on-site Michelin-starred restaurant, is set to debut an updated concept this month, reinforcing the destination's "understated luxury" profile.
