International Award for Nantwich-Based Facility
A Cheshire golf venue has earned global recognition after being named the best Toptracer range across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Need Golf, a family-run facility near Nantwich, has been awarded Toptracer Range of the Year at the 2026 EMEA Awards in Madrid.
It is now recognised as the number one Toptracer range across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Pride in Global Achievement
The accolade places the venue at the top of more than 1,550 Toptracer-enabled ranges across 38 countries worldwide, including more than 550 in Europe, marking a significant international achievement.
Sophie Need, co-founder of Need Golf, said: “To be recognised on an international stage like this is incredibly special.
“When you look at the scale and quality of facilities across Europe and beyond, to be named number one is something we’re hugely proud of.”
Recognition Builds on Recent Success
The award comes just weeks after Need Golf was named England Golf’s Facility of the Year.
From Field to Leading Facility
Need Golf was founded six years ago by husband-and-wife team James and Sophie Need.
The couple transformed an empty agricultural field into what is now one of the most progressive golf facilities in the country.
Sophie said: “We didn’t set out to win awards, we set out to change golf for the better and get more people playing.”
Inclusive and Technology-Driven Approach
The facility is known for its inclusive and technology-driven approach to golf.
At its core is Toptracer technology, which allows players to track their shots, play virtual courses, and enjoy interactive games.
This approach has helped to attract families, beginners, and younger audiences to the sport by breaking down traditional barriers to participation.
Growing the Game Through Accessibility
Sophie added: “We’re incredibly passionate about off-course golf.
“It’s the most accessible entry point into the game and plays a huge role in growing participation.
“It doesn’t replace traditional golf, it feeds it.
“It gives people a first experience in a relaxed, welcoming environment, and builds confidence to take that next step.”
Looking Ahead After Major Milestone
The latest award adds to a growing list of achievements for Need Golf, which now welcomes more than 50,000 visitors each year.
Despite its international success, Sophie said the team remains focused on the future.
She said: “This award isn’t the finish line, it’s fuel for what comes next.
“We’re continuing to invest, evolve, and push forward with our mission to make golf more inclusive, more modern, and more accessible for everyone.”
