The Italian Golf Federation's National Golf School (Scuola Nazionale di Golf), organised by EduSport, has successfully concluded its Assistant Coach B programme at the Federation's National Technical Centre in Sutri.
The programme began on 29 June with an initial online phase before continuing with in-person education at the National Technical Centre. Participants completed more than 130 hours of study and practical learning throughout the course.
In line with the Italian Golf Federation's official curriculum, candidates undertook a comprehensive, modern programme covering all aspects of golf coaching. Those who successfully pass the final examination will be awarded an official qualification recognised as equivalent to the role of coach within Italy's National Qualification System for Sports Technicians (SNAQ).
The programme forms part of the Federation's long-term strategy to raise the standard of coach education, an initiative strongly supported by President Franco Cerchiai and the Federal Council. This follows the recent restructuring of the National Golf School's governance, with Costantino Rocca serving as Coordinator of the Scientific and Technical Committee, supported by Massimo Mannelli as Operational Manager for the Professional Section and Davide Santagostino for the Directors and Green Section.
The Federation's objective is clear: to develop well-rounded golf professionals.
For that reason, the curriculum extended well beyond technical instruction, on-course practice and updates to the Rules of Golf. Significant emphasis was also placed on the organisational and managerial skills required to support the successful operation of a golf club, alongside the development of interpersonal and communication skills.
These areas are considered fundamental in promoting inclusivity, delivering high-quality coaching for children, and supporting golfers with disabilities.
