BIRMINGHAM, UK — Global sports agency Sporting Group International (SGI) has brokered a landmark international partnership for the World Players Super League (WPSL), securing Swiss-based connectivity provider Yesim as its official eSIM partner.
The two-year agreement, valued at a substantial six-figure sum, marks a historical first: Yesim becomes the first-ever eSIM company to sponsor a global golf organisation.
Under the terms of the deal, Yesim gains exclusive eSIM rights across all WPSL tournaments—an expansive footprint encompassing more than 1,800 events annually across the globe.
The WPSL stands as the largest golf tour in the world, boasting a community of over four million current and former participants. Its unique competitive structure allows golfers to play on their local courses using their own scorecards while competing simultaneously in a unified, worldwide tournament framework.
"We’re thrilled to have secured this premium, high-profile deal between Yesim and WPSL, which is a global first," said Adrian Wright, Chief Executive of SGI.
"Players include everyone from your average amateur golfer to high-profile former top football players like Robbie Fowler, Andy Cole, Lee Dixon, and Teddy Sheringham. This profile is replicated internationally, creating an audience of unmatched scale who will see and experience Yesim’s involvement."
For Yesim—a leader in mobile data services designed for international travellers—the partnership offers direct access to a highly mobile, global demographic.
For the WPSL, the deal signifies the first major step in an ambitious broader commercial roll-out.
