GUERNSEY - La Grande Mare has officially announced key additions to its leadership team ahead of its highly anticipated golf course opening on 1 August, appointing Nic Bell as Golf Operations Manager.
Joining Bell on the newly formed Golf Operations team are Sandy Cronje and Paul Chalker, marking a major milestone in the resort’s preparations to welcome golfers and the public next month.
Nic Bell steps into the role of Golf Operations Manager arriving from the prestigious London Golf Club, where he earned his PGA Professional qualification. Bell, who began his career in the golf industry at age 16, brings a wealth of experience spanning golf operations, retail management, tournament organization, coaching support, and member services. His international credentials also include a standout internship at the Tommy Fleetwood Academy located at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai.
At La Grande Mare, Bell will oversee all day-to-day operations within the golf department, including:
Supporting the department's day-to-day running, guest services, and retail operations is Sandy Cronje. Cronje brings a deep, personal familiarity with the venue, having been a La Grande Mare Golf Club member for seven years and serving on its Ladies Committee for five years.
Rounding out the team as Golf Operations Assistant is Paul Chalker. Chalker boasts over 40 years of business and manufacturing experience alongside a deep-rooted passion for golf, having previously served as both Club Captain and Chairman at Whalley Golf Club in Lancashire.
