Tech-Golf Giant Partners with Insight Hospitality for UK Growth

15 July, 2026

LONDON - In a major shake-up of the competitive socialising sector, tech-infused mini golf giant Puttshack has handed its entire UK operational helm to boutique consultancy firm Insight Hospitality to spearhead a new era of growth.

Effective immediately, the strategic partnership tasks Insight Hospitality with managing the day-to-day operations across all UK business units, bringing in a powerhouse trio of industry veterans to elevate the brand's food, beverage, and guest experience.

A Powerhouse Leadership Team

The transition installs some of the UK hospitality sector's most prominent heavyweights into top leadership roles at Puttshack:

  • Des McDonald (UK Operation Lead): The Principal of Insight Hospitality and former Group CEO of Soho House will lead the overall UK operation. McDonald brings more than 35 years of global experience, having previously led Caprice Holdings and opened some of London's most iconic dining destinations.

  • Steve Tonkin (Head of Food & Beverage): The acclaimed culinary heavyweight, formerly the executive chef for Soho House Group and Caprice Holdings, will take charge of the kitchen and bar operations, focusing on high-volume, premium-quality execution.

  • Olivier Lavigne du Cadet (Head of Operations): Known for scaling premium leisure and hospitality brands, the former senior leader at La Petite Maison and The Set hotels will take over operational execution.

"We are looking forward to working alongside the Insight Hospitality team to align on an exciting new strategy and growth plan, continuing to enhance our guest experience and driving the next phase of growth for Puttshack UK." - David Bagley, CEO of Puttshack

Driving the Next Phase of Growth

The partnership aims to build on Puttshack's existing foundations as the world's first and only tech-infused mini golf concept. By combining Puttshack's proprietary tracking technology with Insight Hospitality's premium operational background, the brand looks to sharpen its competitive edge.

"Puttshack revolutionised the competitive socialising sector, and we are thrilled to be stepping in to manage the UK portfolio," said Des McDonald. "There are incredibly strong foundations already in place, and our focus will be on sharpening operational execution, elevating the food and beverage offering, and executing a robust strategy that ensures Puttshack remains the market leader in tech-infused entertainment."
