GolfPod Opens Third UK Location at Rickmansworth Golf Course

3 November, 2026

GolfPod, the technology-driven driving range known as "The Anywhere Driving Range," has officially launched its third UK location at Rickmansworth Golf Course on Moor Lane. The facility was developed in partnership with leisure operator Everyone Active, which manages the course on behalf of the Three Rivers District Council.

The site welcomed its first public players over the weekend of Saturday, October 24. The opening represents GolfPod's second project delivered alongside Everyone Active, following previous launches at Cranham Golf Course in Upminster and Basildon Sporting Village.

Concept and Design

GolfPod was built around a simple idea: golf should be easier to get into. While traditional driving ranges require several acres of land, GolfPod operates on a compact footprint of approximately 40 square metres. The layout turns under-used sections of existing leisure sites or golf courses into modern practice and social venues.

At Rickmansworth Golf Course, the new setup is positioned opposite the clubhouse on a section of the former par 3 and footgolf area.

Facility Features

The Rickmansworth location includes:

  • Ten covered, floodlit bays facing a synthetic outfield to allow play in any weather condition and into the evening.
  • Toptracer technology in every bay, providing the same ball-tracking system featured on professional tour broadcasts for real-time data on distance, ball speed, launch angle, and accuracy.
  • Games and virtual golf modes, including target challenges and famous courses suited for families, juniors, beginners, and experienced golfers.
  • Premium Callaway golf balls and hitting mats, with tracking cameras calibrated for precise shot metrics.
  • Automated ball dispensing and collection to keep operations running smoothly with minimal staffing requirements.
  • Contactless pay-and-play access requiring no advance booking or mobile apps—players simply arrive, tap to purchase golf balls, and enter an open bay.

Initial Turnout and Expansion Plans

Despite facing a stormy final build week and rain over its opening weekend, the facility experienced strong early engagement. An opening-day video released by Everyone Active gathered more than 17,000 views within days, accompanied by positive early visitor feedback.

Mike Stone, Managing Director of GolfPod, commented on the new location:

"We’re delighted to open GolfPod Rickmansworth with Everyone Active, our second site together. Our goal has always been to get more people playing golf, and that means facilities that are accessible, welcoming and easy to use, whether you’re working on your game, picking up a club for the first time or bringing the family for some fun.

"Technology is central to that. Golfers need data they can trust, which is why we’ve invested heavily in Toptracer and in the quality of every part of the experience, from the balls to the mats.

"What we’ve seen at Cranham and Basildon shows there is real appetite for a different kind of golf experience, and Rickmansworth has made a fantastic start despite the weather. With our fourth site starting construction before the end of the year, GolfPod is building momentum as we bring the game closer to more communities."

GolfPod confirms that construction on its fourth site will begin before the end of 2026, targeting an opening in early 2027. Using a standardized construction process, the company brings sites from initial build to opening in approximately seven weeks. Additional UK openings are planned throughout 2027 in partnership with leisure operators, local authorities, and golf venues.
