Phillips Takes the Helm at Ladies European Tour

10 April, 2026

BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, UK – The Ladies European Tour (LET) entered a new chapter today, April 6, 2026, as Tom Phillips officially began his tenure as Chief Executive Officer. Phillips, a seasoned sports executive with over 25 years of experience in the global golf industry, arrives at a pivotal moment as women’s professional golf continues to see record-breaking interest and commercial growth.

Phillips steps into the role following a transformative seven-year stint as Director of Middle East for the DP World Tour. During his time there, he was instrumental in expanding the European Tour Group’s presence in the region to eight events—including three prestigious Rolex Series tournaments—with combined prize money exceeding $35 million

A Strategic Vision for Growth

In his first address as CEO, Phillips outlined a clear roadmap for the Tour, emphasizing a "people-first" strategy. He identified three primary pillars for his leadership:

  • The Players: Strengthening the competitive platform and expanding playing opportunities.
  • The Partners: Creating sustainable, long-term commercial value for sponsors.
  • The Fans: Enhancing the spectator experience both on-site and through digital broadcasts.

Phillips noted that the LET is home to "world-class athletes who inspire audiences across continents" and expressed his commitment to elevating the visibility of the women's game globally.

Industry Veteran with Global Expertise

Phillips' resume reflects a career spent at the highest levels of golf administration across Europe and Asia:

  • DP World Tour: Led Middle Eastern operations and secured the landmark title partnership with DP World.
  • Hong Kong Golf Association: Served as CEO, overseeing the historic Hong Kong Open.
  • Faldo Series: Spent 15 years working with Sir Nick Faldo, eventually serving as CEO of the global junior development series.
  • Mission Hills China: Held senior business development roles at one of the world's largest golf resorts.

Leadership Confidence

The appointment has been met with high praise from the LET leadership. Marta Figueras Dotti, Chair of the LET Board, highlighted Phillips' "commercial expertise and strong track record" as vital assets for the Tour’s future.

"His experience in delivering consistent growth in terms of events and prize money provides a great case study for what he can do for the LET," said Figueras Dotti. "His collaborative approach will play a crucial role in driving the Tour forward."

Phillips’ arrival coincides with a packed 2026 schedule, featuring high-stakes tournaments and the highly anticipated Solheim Cup, which is set to take place in the Netherlands this September. As he settles into the UK-based headquarters, the industry will be watching closely to see how his international expertise shapes the next era of European women’s golf.
